IOOF Cemetery= Association

   &nb= sp; Members of the IOOF Cemetery Association met Monday, April 28, 2008 in the= Senior Citizens Center in Caddo Mills, Texas.  Members present were President Jim Green, Linda Hess, Rex King, Tony Gavin, Tom Jenkins, Ben Bentley, Glenn Ne= wman and JoNell Garlington.   = President Jim Green presided.  Rex King = opened the meeting with prayer.

      Linda Hess read the November = minutes.  Tony Gavin made the motion to acce= pt the minutes as read; Rex King seconded.  Motion carried.   JoNell Garlington gave the Treasurer’s Report stating a balance of $5,643.56 in the checking acc= ount as of January 31= , 2008.  Tony Gavin made the motion to acce= pt the treasurer’s report; Linda Hess seconded.  Motion carried.  Rex King stated that the bank depo= sit box contained a few documents; the charge per year is $30.00.

   &nb= sp; President Green stated that two new board members were needed.  He requested members to search for people who were genuinely interested in the cemetery and would be willing to serve on the board.

   <= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>  Linda Hess requested on behal= f of the Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery Ladies Auxiliary Association that shrubs = be placed around the gazebo and Crepe Myrtles be placed outside the front fence.  She explained that the Ladies Auxiliary desired to beautify and enhance the cemetery.  Tony Gavin made the motion that the Ladies Auxiliary beautify and enhance the cemetery in any way that they felt appropriate.  Rex King seconded.  Motion carried.

   &nb= sp; President Green stated concern of drainage in the cemetery.  Linda Hess made the motion that Ben Bentley and Tony Gavin work together to improve the drainage in the cemeter= y at the cost of $600.00 which would cover pipes and labor.  JoNell Garlington seconded.  Motion carried.  President Green stated that any fu= rther road work should be delayed until the drainage problem is solved.

   &nb= sp; Tony Gavin and Tom Jenkins both voiced concern of the location of sp= aces in the part belonging the Colonas, Spanish part of cemetery.  Tony Gavin made the motion that Tom Jenkins meet with a representative of the Colonas to verify deeds.  Linda Hess seconded.  Motion carried.

   &nb= sp; Linda Hess made the motion that Tony Gavin be reimbursed for a space that he had purchased at the cost of $500.00 which he later learned already= had someone buried on it.  Rex King seconded.  Motion carried.

   &nb= sp; Tom Jenkins made the motion that an amendment be made to the motion = made February 20, 2006 regarding the purchase and payment of spaces in the cemet= ery that upon purchase of a space, an initial charge of $250.00 would be paid and the purchaser would have 12 months/1 year to pay the balance of $250.00 with no= one being allowed to be buried until space has been paid in full.  JoNell Garlington seconded.  Motion carried.
